The homegrown smartphone manufacturer, Micromax has finally made its comeback in the country with its two smartphones called IN Note 1 and IN 1B. The IN-Series smartphones were among the hot topics from the past few months and a bunch of rumours were floating in the market. However, the newly launched smartphones stand out of the expectations and offer much better value to the budget segment.
Micromax IN Note 1 and 1B: Specifications and Features
Display and Design
Talking about the entry-level smartphone first, IN 1B features a 6.52-inch HD+ Display with a tiny notch on the top housing 8MP selfie camera. Besides, the display boasts a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The back panel resembles Xiaomi’s Redmi 9 if we look at the gradient closely and sports a rectangular camera module. There is a fingerprint scanner on the centre and IN branding at the bottom.
On the other hand, the IN Note 1 comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ LCD panel with 60Hz refresh rate, 450 nits of peak brightness and a punch-hole cutout for the 16MP selfie camera. The back panel features a shiny X pattern gradient, rectangular camera module, fingerprint scanner and IN branding at the bottom.
Both the smartphones run Stock Android based on Android 10 for clean and simple user experience. Moreover, the Note 1 is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G85 SoC and the 1B is powered by Helio G35. The 1B is offered in two variants i.e. 2GB RAM + 32GB ad 4GB RAM + 64GB while Note 1 comes with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage. It is good to see that the company has included the much-loved 3.5mm audio jack as well as USB Type-C port in both the devices. Micromax has also promised 2 years of software updates via OTA. The IN-Series smartphones come with 5000mAh battery and support 18W fast-charging in Note 1 while the 1B supports 10W fast charging.
The Note 1 sports a quad rear camera setup which includes a 48MP primary camera, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro lens. Again good to see the company has offered all the 4 cameras that are found in the other competitors. However, IN 1B comes with dual cameras including a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor.
