Canon has officially launched two full-frame mirrorless camera namely EOS R5 and EOS R6 in India. The new cameras come with significant improvements in terms of videography and some features. The EOS R5 and EOS R6 are the new additions to the Canon R-series and, most importantly, these full-frame cameras come with in-body image stabilization.
Canon EOS R5
Let’s talk about the star of launch, Canon EOS R5 comes with a 45MP full-frame CMOS sensor Digic X processor. This camera comes with Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, offering a full focus of 1,053 automatically selected AutoFocus zones. In addition, the AF tracking algorithm is modified, that now will even focus and detect head and eye animals and birds. The ISO setting can go up to 51,200 and further to 1,02,400 when expanded. Canon EOS R5 is capable of capturing 8K videos up to 30fps in RAW, while for 4K videos, you can shoot it at up to 120FPS and sadly there is no RAW mode for 4K. And for photography, the camera captures full-resolution images up to 20fps with an electronic shutter and the mechanical shutter can click the same with a maximum of 12fps.
The body of the camera is weatherproof and comes with dual card slots. Besides, the camera also supports video formats like H.265 HEVC, H.264 MP4 and RAW. The Canon EOS R5 is priced at Rs. 3,39,995 and will be sold from August 2020.
Canon EOS R6
Moving to the affordable yet pro-level camera, the EOS R6 features a 20.1MP full-frame CMOS sensor and Digic X processor. This camera doesn’t support 8K video recording and RAW mode, however, it can shoot 4K videos at 60fps and 1080p slow-motion video at 120fps. Other than these, other features and improvements are similar to the Canon EOS R5. The Canon EOS R6 is priced at Rs. 2,15,995 for the body only, which is lower in price than the EOS R5.
