Mi Smart Band 5: Price and Availability in India
Mi Smart Band 5 comes with a price tag of Rs. 2,499 in India and will be sold exclusively on Amazon.in, Mi.com and offline retailers from October 1.
Mi Smart Band 5: Specifications and Features
First thing first, the Band 5 comes with a 1.1-inch colour AMOLED touch-enabled display with 126 x 294 resolution and up to 450 nits peak brightness. The company has added new punchy colours to the silicone straps along with the Black and Blue straps which include colour options like yellow, orange and olive green. Moreover, the brand also claims to have added over 65 watch faces for daily usage. There has been an addition of 5 new sports modes to the existing 5 sports mode which means you can now record activities like walking, cycling, swimming, treadmill, outdoor running, indoor cycling, jump rope, yoga, freestyle, rowing machine and elliptical machine. It is water-resistant and can go up to 50 meters/5ATM so you can wear the band while swimming also. Also, this band is capable of displaying notifications, idle alerts, alarms, messages and caller ID like the older bands.
The band comes with PPG Heart Rate sensor for 24hours tracking so it can now track 24 hours sleep tracking that was not available in the previous fitness bands. Besides, it can also show your Personal Activity Intelligence (PAI) with stress monitoring as well as women’s health-centric menstrual and fertility cycles. Sadly, unlike the China variant, we don’t get the Sp02 sensor and NFC which are much demanded by the users during the COVID-19 pandemic. For a hands-free experience, there is a remote camera shutter button and music playback control.
The Mi band 5 is backed up by a 125mAh battery which can deliver battery life of up to 14 days, as claimed by Xiaomi. And for charging, there is a new technology called magnetic charger which enables you to charge your band without taking it out of the strap. This is surely very convenient for the users who charge fitness band frequently.
